YCNC is a not for profit community based organisation that provides a range of services and programs to disadvantaged youth and their families. We provide practical assistance and emotional support for young people and we believe in and celebrate the positive potential of all young people in the Northern Rivers area.
OUR PROGRAMS:
- Supported accommodation offers assistance advocacy, support, referral, independent living skills, education, transport, food, counselling and brokerage accommodation. (Funded by the NSW Department of Community Services)
- Community Services Grants Program supports recreational, education and independent living skills activities, as well as helping the young people with advocacy, referral, counselling and accommodation. (Funded by the NSW Department of Community Services)
- Community Links to Learning Program assists early school leavers, 15-24 years, to access and participate in education or accredited training. (Funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training)
- The Creative Peoples Collective: a youth driven organisation to create and promote opportunities for young people to participate in and to have a voice through the creative arts. (Funded through The Foundation for Young Australians)
- Red Dust Healing Program is to support young males, who have committed violent crime, are seen as being at risk of offending or who have conflict management issues. (Delivered in partnership with Lismore City Council and funded through the NSW Attorney General’s Department)
- Family Relationship Service Program - Men and Family Relationships helps men to develop and maintain strong family relationships, or deal with conflict or separation. There are two components: direct assistance and the Thanks Dad Photo Competition. (Funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs)
- Youthlinx Program - YouthLinx is prevention and early intervention program that supports young people aged 11-16 and their families to build self-reliance, strengthen family relationships and encourage community involvement. (Funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations)
- Lismore African Youth Access Program LAYA supports African Refugee Youth who are currently enrolled in upper primary and high school through homework tutoring, sporting equipment and driver training. (Delivered in partnership with Volunteering Northern Rivers and Sanctuary Northern Rivers and Supported by the NSW Government through the Community Relations Commission for a multicultural NSW).
- Creative Peoples Collective - CPC is a youth driven organisation that aims to create and promote opportunities for young people to participate in and have a voice through the creative arts. The CPC is founded in the principals of collaboration and participation. (Funded through the Foundation for Young Australians)
